Tech Pooptastic Part One: The Melting
Yesterday was tech pooptastic. I spent a huge portion of my day fixing and updating my PC in addition to working on my iPhone and iPad. I finally got around to updating my iPhone to the latest IOS & I backed up my photos while I wait for the PC to finish updating to the latest Windows 10.
I have a SSD & iTunes forces my phone & iPad backups on the C Drive (Apple needs to fix that ridiculousness), which is only used for my OS & programs. The backups took all the space on my C Drive, so I haven't been able to back up my phone since October. I wanted to just sync some Sue Grafton audio books (more on that later) & my iTunes pooped out & stopped syncing. When I looked up the error, it said that sometimes iTunes stops syncing if the OS isn't fully updated to the latest version. So, I deleted my backups and restarted the computer.
I started this post on my iPad while I waited for the computer to finish restarting. It took it's sweet time.
BTW this is my desk right now.
The comp finally finished restarting & the updates finally installed! I googled how to do switch the backups to the D Drive & got started. First time bombed because I thought I did the command prompt right, but I didn't. M & I went back & forth on that one for a bit. I think we were both done. I realized the mistake I made & tried again. Low & behold it worked! I was so happy, but syncing still didn't work. Stupid iTunes!
My brain was melting. I've been having tech issues for a few weeks now & this nearly did me in. Thankfully Once Upon a Time Big Bad Red in my favorite fox glass helped me cope.
I was hesitant to uninstall & reinstall iTunes after the crap I had just been through, but M thought downloading an iTunes repair program would be best & that finally made everything work. I was finally able to backup & sync my devices. When I went to finish the blog on the computer, Blogger wouldn't let me log in under this ID (I have multiple gmails). I decided that was a sign & it was time to give it up for the night. Today I figured out how to fix that small issue & finally all is right with the world.
